From the NYT today:

...U.S. military forces conducted a rare raid in northwestern Syria on Friday, killing a senior Islamic State leader and two other ISIS insurgents, the Pentagon’s Central Command said.

In a statement, Central Command said that U.S. forces killed the leader, Dhiya’ Zawba Muslih al-Hardani, and his two adult sons in the Aleppo area.

Central Command provided few details on the ground operation, but military counterterrorism raids — as opposed to airstrikes — have typically involved helicopter-borne Special Operations commandos, often supported by attack planes and drones...

Have a buddy playing for the away team for awhile. It may be nigh impossible to repair and rebuild the former Caliphate areas into a functional society, the surgical application of force does keep the pot from boiling over.

I am sure appreciative for the folks participating in and supporting these missions.
 
Every time we or Israel knock off another terrorist leader it is good news for sure, however, they are quickly replaced by another. The sad truth is that there is no end to this saga. Remember what the radicals believe that the Quran says, they will defeat the infidels even if it takes a million years.

I think it's more a case of believing what they think the Quran says. They are not the first to make that error with religious texts.
