Another post was requesting Eagle Grips. Any info on the company and products?

They all seem to be made in India. I have found their quality control to be all over the place. One set comes in with perfect fit and finish and the next looks like a shop student in need of a failing grade produced them. I went through three of them for my GP100 and they were all sent back. Third time I just asked for a refund. I like the Secret Service finger groove checkered grip for the J frame, but won't be trying a forth time with them. Their Sambar stag looks amazing but I would order from somewhere else just from my past history with them. They just burned me too hard. I would really have thought they would have test fit the third set they sent me. They weren't just a little off, they flat out didn't fit. It wasn't just a minor variation in the frame or I might have just kept them and fixed them.
 
I had the same problem as Bob. Pretty grips but the quality control is awful. I had to send two pair back. The third pair fit but the grain wasn't nearly as pretty as that of the first two pair. Now I give my business to Herretts. They make beautiful grips that fit, even if they are a bit more expensive.

I bought a pair of their "coke" style targets that I think they call Classics and sent them back because the checkering was mashed up on one side in a small area, but the other side was beautiful. I have gorgous service N frame stags I bought at their table at a S.F. gunshow in the 80's. Love those. I guess it's just tough and go.
 
Thanks, I guess that sums it up. I wondered how they could have so many different grips.

I too was interested in the SS grips for a J frame. I like the bantam size with checkering.
 
If you have the patience to deal with them, you may get lucky on the first time. You might check out Ahrends Grips for his J frame offering. I wish he would offer a checkered set. I like his finger grooved two finger model. If I ever get another snub J frame in need of a grip that will be the one for me. But right now I love my BK grip adapter with magnas, my Altamont boot grip, and my Uncle Mikes rubber Spegel clone. I didn't care for the Pachmayr Compac Pro, but the bigger Compac works well with magnums in the 640. And while I like the look and feel of the Hogue Bantam, recoil makes it not feel so great in my hand. CDNN still has the smaller finger groove Sile grips that are cheap and very functional, but it's a little small in my hand. And wood Spegels are still some of the best looking and most functional boot grips out there. VZ is making a new boot grip but I don't think the price is so great. That's a subjective comment just like the rest of what I'm saying though. They are still getting good reviews by those that bought them. J's have more options than you can shake a stick at and get away with it.
 
I've replaced original Ruger Security Six .32 and Vaquero .38 in Eagle Rosewood/checkered grips.Beautiful and feel great. One minor adjustment which a rep walked me through. They even had Birdshead application. Very pleased.

I bought a pair of the "Heritage Series" when they first came out. Fit was good, but not excellent with an exposed seam at the butt. Wood color was kinda purple, but uniform on both panels and which has thankfully darkened with age. There was no oil or finish at all applied to the stocks that I could see. Shape was correct, and the checkering panels well done, but they sure wouldn't fool anyone into believing these are real "Cokes".

I sprung for the extra bucks and had Eagle put in the S&W Medallions. Properly positioned, but one of which was incorrectly rotated.

At $132 I hoped for more, but I wasn't so disappointed that I would send them back. They were actually just the ticket to tame the recoil of my heavy bullet loads in my 625 .45 Colt Mountain Gun.

Would I buy another set? Possibly, but I'm not in any hurry to do so...

I bought a set of "gunfighter" grips for my Ruger Blackhawk. They extended past the backstrap enough that it felt like my palm was getting sliced with each shot. I sent the grip frame back with the grips for fitting. They came back perfect. The down side is that between the purchase and shipping (both ways) it almost double the cost of the grips. The up side is that I have what is to me the perfect grip on the Blackhawk.
 
I have only good things to say about the two sets of checkered ebony j-frame grips I own.
 
Send them a pair of broken grips for warranty. WORST customer service I have ever received from a company in the firearms industry. Spend your money with ant other company.
 
Eagle Heritage

I have 2 sets of N-frame Heritage "cokes". Bought one set directly from Eagle and had the S&W medallions added. Total cost including shipping was about $170. It took a total of about 6-weeks and several emails to Eagle to get them. Must have been a slow boat from India. The medallions are installed in the U.S. Except for the sorry customer service, I'm happy with the grips for the money I paid vs. the cost of genuine factory cokes.



Bought a second set from a SWF member (without medallions).



Both sets fit well, wood and checking is decent, and I'm glad I have them.

Would I buy another set? Yes, off eBay or from a SWF member. From Eagle? No - not worth the hassle.

I had a set of their Ebonys on a 657 and they fit well , but the wood was so dark it looked like black plastic.
