After reading Capt Steve's thread about the gutter scammer I had to note my experience. My audiologist moved to a different town and Miracle Ear moved into his store. I went to get my hearing aids fixed and they said they would take care of his patients. After an evaluation and a hearing test Miracle Ear said I needed new hearing aids. They offered me "their best" for $9100.00. BUT WAIT, if I bought them before the end of the month I'd get the special price of $5100.00. I asked how they could discount them by $4000.00 and she said that was my special price. I said I'd think about it and left. Yesterday she called and asked if I was ready to get my new aids. I asked again. How can you drop the price $4000.00? She never answered

Like asking a barber if you need a haircut.

Of course you need NEW hearing aids.

The hearing aid sellers seem to have lower/worse ethics than Used Car Salesmen or Greedy Morticians.

Years ago a hearing aid seller charged a friend $750 for taking molds of his ear canals.

Seller had suggested/implied that VA might pay for hearing aids.

WRONG!
