Another use for a soft sided pistol case

Seems how these things tend to breed I found another use for one. They help to keep that nice edge while in the drawer with others. I take it out, use it, wipe it down and put it back, never touches the sink or anything else.

That looks like the packaging for an 8 3/8" model 17 I just recieved. The grip frame was in the small gun rug with 2 cut off sweater sleeves " protecting" the barrel. Very inventive and my FFL was quite amused.
Now I have an extra rug to put a knife in!

Ha! I have one kitchen drawer that contains my sharpening stuff and a half dozen prized knives. This 25cent garage sale find is one of my favorites.

I should edit this to say "I am allowed one kitchen drawer"
