Any 10mm range ammo suggestions?

Recently picked up a 1006 and want to start hitting the range more often but tough finding ammo. Had problems with Blazer 200gr ammo (see my other thread), blazer brass was better. Any other somewhat reasonable priced ammo I should try before ordering a case of something?

I have always had good results from Federal American Eagle, but so-so from most of Remington's UMC line. They both offer 50rd boxes of brass cased 180gr FMJ at around 1030 (AE) to 1150 (UMC) FPS. Palmetto State Armory has the AE at $27.99 a box and while they show they are out at the moment, SGAmmo lists the UMC at $26.95...either is plus shipping. I have ordered multiple times from both vendors and they are GTG. Can't find any Blazer Brass but I'd look more at price if 'blasting ammo' was what I wanted. JMO

For general range work American Eagle has worked well in my 10mm Smiths. It's kind of expensive in my area when you can find it.

I've had good luck with some of the offerings from Georgia Arms, and they sell in bulk as well.

Georgia Arms - 10 MM

They appear to be out of stock right now, but when they have it it's a good way to get a supply of brass to start reloading for this caliber.:D

Hope this helps!

I have been buying the Prvi 180 JHP ammo for $379 per case of 1000 delivered to my door from Palmetto Armory. That is under $19 per box of 50 including the shipping. I have gone through a couple of cases of it.

The amunition is made in Serbia. It shoots well and is fairly accurate in my 310 and 610 revolvers as well as my SIG P220 autoloader.

The quality really surprised me. I had made the first purchase just to get some cheap ammo to run through the MP5.

Yeah I reload too for the 10 mm, but when I was building up my brass supply I shot mostly American Eagle and had good luck with it. I really didn't have any problems with Remington either. For range work, I'd get whatever was cheapest as they all seemed to feed fine in all my 10s (1076, Glock 20 and 29, and custom 1911).

Take a look at Underwood ammo. Some high powered rounds at good prices. Only available from the guy's website.

For just range/blasting ammo it's okay.........but I chronographed it out of a 4.5" pistol and got an average velocity of just 870 fps. My 40 S&W loads are moving faster than that! Certainly not what I expected. And don't worry about those hollow points expanding, the cores are hard as rocks, the jackets pop off on impact, and even in wetpack, the noses barely deform. Range ammo only!

Privi is very weak. BVAC is loaded more inline with what a 10mm should be, and you can get it at CTD for around the same price. Underwoods is true full power stuff, if that is what you are after.

Are you sure you can get Blazer Brass in 10mm? If so, that is news to me.

You're right K1500, I was shooting American Eagle Brass, not Blazer Brass. Keep me honest here....

Could only find a "Caliber Corner" on the Glock forum, but I'll try the AR-15 one, thanks!
It's a forum under "Gun Related Clubs". Has the red print in the heading .
About half way down on it is " The 10 Ring", and right below that is "10MM Reloading Forum" .

Ah, got it now. Well hidden, for someone who has never even entertained the notion of going to the Glock forum before! ;)
