Like the mystical unicorn, all I have seen of the 632 revolver is on a webpage. I read the gunblast write up and it seems pretty good. So are they on the market yet??

Dealer has one ordered for me but his distributors don't have any yet.

wouldn't a SP101 in 357 be better for the same weight & size? I'm concerned about the availability of 327 ammo....

I only owned 32 mag revolvers until this last year. I got a couple of 22's, a 45 colt, and as of yesterday a model 66-2. I wanted to try this 327 out.

I have a Ruger .327 I'll probably sell it when I get the S&W.
The local dealer got ammo for me so I have enough loaded and empties to last a long time. I also shoot .32 S&W, .32 Long and .32 H&R mag in it.

Agreed...$300 for a model 30 (or 31), and a 10 minute operation with a .32 H&R chamber reamer (rented) should do the trick!

So who do you rent a reamer from?

Well June is almost here and I was wondering if there has been any sighting or is it more vaporware??

There aren't many sightings of anything with a barel less that 4" around here these days. I have some fairly severe arthritis in the right hand and would like to try one if I ever get the chance. New SP-101's of any sort are rare around here. It's rather irritating to me when these gun companies announce new models then there are none to be found.

s.o.p. for gun companies to put something out for publication then see how much of a splash it makes before they actually make them. some companies are worse than others about this but they all so it. ammo may be the limiting factor for a while. at least, if you want the 327 mag ammo.

Possible sighting of unicorn. I just purchased a 16-4 and this is what the seller says. Paul is the FFL shipping the 16-4 to Robert, my FFL in Texas.

"Jason- Called Robert, Your gun should arrive there Saturday. Paul Liked it. It's his favorite cal. too! He was Carrying the new S&W Scandium .327 mag . Pretty Cool, but not as pertty as ihe older blue/wood Classics. But for a 'Tool', they rock...Of course it has the Laser Grips. Let me know what ya think of the -4!! I'm sure you'll Love it.-Mitch"

Mitch is a member of this forum and I asked him to get pictures of Paul with the 632 just to prove it exists and to find out where Paul bought it.

The report was false, but also true (DOES THAT MAKE SENSE). It was a 632, but it was the hammerless model in 32 mag, the original model. How often does S&W reuse model numbers for something so drastically different???

I just made an attempt in the SE Mich. area and asked a dealer to try to find one with no success.
Some Mich. forum members are aware of a place called Guns Galore in Fenton Michigan that turns a LOT of iron and I was told today that they had yet to see even one!
Called S&W last week and I asked in they were even running them and was told 'yes' but as most of us know from previous S&W calls - it REALLY depends on who picks up on their end as to the integrity of the answer received!
I beginning to believe in the poster that said a unicorn might be more prevalent!!!

I had a Ruger SS 4.6" BHG SSM and a 4" SP101 - both in .32 H&RM. All of the chambers were at the max ID for SAAMI specs, so they worked the small brass a lot. The lead was getting hard to find - and as expensive as the easier to find .38 lead. I sold the guns, dies, brass, etc, and bought a 627 Pro - much more better and gooder... seriously. Some of my 98 & 115gr LRNFP lead loads, at nearly 800 fps, wouldn't knock the steel plates down - all of my wimpiest 125gr & 158gr lead .38 loads do so with style.

Note: Ruger dropped the SA & SP-101 .32s due to poor sales - and elected to reream their stash of 3" .32 SP-101s to the newer '.327 Federal Magnum' length - thus recycling some less than stellar selling revolvers. S&W elected to do this with their J-frame 632 - sorry, not for me - the wound hammer spring never seems as nice as a leaf, a la the K,L, & N frames. Besides, I had a couple of years with .32s - that was enough. YMMV.

Well another month has passed, still no 632 sightings? I will have spent on my fun money and have nothing left when it finally arrives :)

I'm glad this resurfaced I was thinking about adding my comments on still trying to find this elusive piece!
Last week I called Davison's which is a S&W distributor in Arizona I believe. Its a place that you sometimes get directed to from the S&W homepage when your looking for a new toy.
The man I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful. When I inquired about the 632 he gave a small laugh and said they'd had them on order all year and had yet to see piece one!!!! I don't think they're exactly a small distributor.
I think the unicorn comments are still valid!!!
