Anyone place a laser on their M&P Sport AR15 for home defense?

If so which one works well from your experience?

thanks

I had a Crimson Trace green rail master once. IMO, too awkward to use.

If I were to use a laser again, I'd go for one that was integrated into a VFG. Grab it and the laser is on. At the minimum get one that can be wired with a pressure switch.

Nah i have a 9mm glock with trl hl on it. Ar15 is too big for me.

+1

My environment, skill level, and preferences factor into my HD firearm choice. Mine is a Glock 17 equipped with every unfair advantage I find useful.

These things should factor into any home defense situation. If you're fighting fair, you're doing it wrong.

While I'm not a fan of lasers, in home defense they can be quite useful. I agree with the pressure switch concept. The same is the right way to use a light.

thanks for the advice

Rastaff and JaPes thanks for bringing up the pressure switch

You're welcome dude. If you're going to run a pressure switch, start planning how you're going to route and mount the cable and pressure switch. Keep in mind you have to accommodate hinging open the AR for maintenance & cleaning.

I would mount the pressure switch on the forearm. This way it can be operated by my support hand and doesn't affect field stripping or maintenance.

I think I want an AFG and that's where I would put it, but I don't have one just yet so. I'm not sure. Currently I have a flashlight mounted on the forearm that has a switch on the tail. This way I can operate the flashlight with my support thumb. Not the best, but it does work.
