Just wondering how many make their own targets. I make
8 1/2 X 11 splatter targets so that it's easier to see the hits. Combined cost for colored ( or scrap white printer ) paper, 2" wide packing tape, and $1 cans of spray paint come to be about 18 cents each. I also have some small targets that I just make colored prints of. If we use a B27 target, I use one of the before mentioned to paste over holes for the next round.
You Tube has some videos on how to make splatter targets.
Us old guys have time to do this stuff.

I have gotten OCD about my rifle targets within the last few years. I have trouble seeing certain colors as well as styles of targets so made my own a few years ago.

I liked the data area of one, but not their target. Another had nice aiming points, but lousy data area. So cut and pasted and then had 500 printed up at the local copy shop.

As far as pistol targets I'm still using regular old bullseye 25 yd slow/timed targets. A black circle works fine for me.

I use the blank side of the junk mail that comes in and print off 8 x 11 bulls eye targets...........ink costs less than $2 a cartridge on ebay.....so I get a lot of targets for little $.....

Sort of . . .

The black and white part is printed on our laser printer. Then I add a cheap Birchwood-Casey stick-on bullseye to make it more fun to shoot.

It's still pretty cheap and my wife likes them. Anything to help SWMBO get in a shooting mood is worth the effort.

By the way, despite this pretty good target which is mine, she usually can out shoot me. :o

i run a printing press. in the past, we would print about 5000 targets every year. i still have some.

I use political campaign signs and paint them and/or print out targets and tape them on. The wire frames can be used/modified to attach hanging targets, too - I like the 1 Liter plastic bottles.

In election years, they're everywhere and no one cares what happens to them after the election as long as they're gone from the side off the road - get them after the election so no one cries about it.

I like 1/2 in steel metal clangors in all sizes and shapes. The sound is great, just not to close of targets.

I do outdoor shooting so I am able to make my own targets and stand..
I also use campaign yard signs, but with a twist..Not all yard signs are created equal, in that some have heavier gauge wire frames..What I do is get the heavier gauge metal frame and cut it in half on the top part( this allows for different size targets) For the cardboard portion that I paste my targets on...I use few shipping boxes from the USPS, they come folded..I put the wire in between the folded box, secure the edges with tape and stick the target in the ground..Works like a charm and the only cost is the stick on targets..:)

My grandson and I use old decks of cards. After many hands of cribbage they are ready to shot at.

Go to mytargets.com and there are lots of targets you can just print out. They will only be 8 1/2X11 but work just fine for handgun out to 25 yards, and rifle out to 100 yards. A sheet of standard copy/printing paper runs about .006 each ($3.00 for 500) then your cost of ink. Probably not much more than a penny or two.

Air rifle

Howdy,
This is a version of my air rifle targets. I shoot them at 25 yards and they are 3/4" I.D. washers. The washers have tiny washers behind them on the screws so they rock. It eliminates ricochets as long as you are on the washer. The plastic will pitch one back at you but I have been shooting them for years and never had one make it back to 25 yards with any remaining energy. The angle iron (Bedrail) rings and the hole opens up when hit. They are rewarding to shoot.
The board is HDPE like stuff that a local leather cutting place cycles out after stamping leather on them for a while and the rest junk I had around the house.
Cheap, easy and fun.
I like my targets like I do my women!

Thanks
Mike

FREE TARGET BACKERS - COMING SOON!

FREE TARGET BACKERS - COMING SOON!

Elections are Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

LOTS of "VOTE FOR xxx" signs made of good grade plastic will be FREE after polls close. And they come with stands.

My choice are the ones having smooth front and back surfaces with corrugated plastic center layer.

Bekeart

I go with my standard 9" white paper plate and black marker.

And really who needs the marker?! Also fun are the smaller "dessert" plates. I tape 'em on a piece of cardboard from whatever boxes are around, in the form of a triangle or four corners and shoot at each in rotation.
