My favorite bourbon is Jim Beam Black. It's aged for 8 years, very smooth, with a very slight sweetness to it. Pairs very well with full bodied cigars.

I occasionally enjoy a good Bourbon like Knob Creek but generally stick to Scotch. I haven't drank any Jim Beam since that night in college.:)
 
I'm a Jack Daniels type of guy . . . however, when the wallet is a bit full, I might indulge in a Blanton's.
 
I have run the gambit of single malt and blended scotches from Scotland, American bourbons and I'm currently exploring Canada's small batch whiskies from Canadian Club. All have different features that effect taste. I'm leaning toward the single malts but the price point of Scotch is an issue. Enjoy your search.

You are a man of good taste. Blanton's is the bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, and one I enjoy on rare occasions. I have about half a bottle on hand. I got a new Smith today, maybe I'll have some.

Yes. I love bourbon. I have toured all of the distilleries here in kentucky.

My cousin and I are going to do that very soon. Don't know if the distilleries are open in the fall. She will be here the first weekend in October for the Pumpkin Run in Owensville. Maybe we can do it then.
 
Jack Daniel's IS Tennessee Whiskey NOT Bourbon which is from Kentucky and an entirely different recipe.

I like Rye Bourbons like Weller.

I drink a little wine or beer from time to time, but I'm not much of a hardware guy.

However: When it comes time to fight a cold or upper respiratory infection or strep throat, I reach for the bottle of ordinary Jim Beam and a sack of fresh lemons, and I drink hot whiskey sours until the invading forces are burned to oblivion by the citric acids and alcohol.

I can usually tell that it is safe to knock off the sours when I can't hear a wheeze when I draw breath.

I just finished this regimen a few days ago. I successfully knocked down one of the worst summer colds I have had in ages, but it took me nearly three weeks to do it.

We can get that here, and it's quite cheap!!! I've gone through a bottle already (with the wife's help) and we have a second one slightly sipped. Usually, all we get here is expensive and over-rated, but the Bulleit is really good stuff.

I mentioned about it to the owner of one of the top hotels here (Hotel Matilda) and now it's their "bar" brand of bourbon. He's a member of our little group and a Smith fan as well.
 
Try Black Maple Hill if you can find it. Elijah Craig 18yr is also a very special treat. Still cheaper than a quality single malt scotch.

That's my story, too, and Im stickin' to it. I have made a lot of converts to Overholt over the years. It has stayed fairly cheap while a lot of other whiskies have gone way up. Right now, I'm sipping Bulleit Rye. The price came down about a third several months ago, and they seem to be selling a lot more now; good stuff, and the bottle is really cool.

When I drink bourbon, it's usually Jim Beam, or Basil Hayden for something more upscale. It is made of 49% rye, which is probably why I like it.

I can't stomach the sour corn flavor of that Tennessee product, although it starts to go down easier after the first five or six shots.

My favorite way to drink whisky is around a campfire, over a plastic rally mug full of store ice, not that nasty chlorinated stuff you get out of the ice trays in your refrigerator. I don't usually drink much at home, except over the last month or so, when misfortunes have poured down on my household like rain. Even so, it's still just a belt or two.
