I would like to install a wall safe. I realize the security is not as good as a regular safe. I was wondering if anyone here had one they liked. I have the typical 2x4 wall construction.

Thanks

from what we have heard, no problem, make sure you lag them in on BOTH sides of an "inside wall" (unless you have a brick or block outer wall) and the trick is don't tell anyone where they are..we've seen them behind pictures, quilts and paneling, some have even been 'bugged' ( wired into a remote cordless or cell phone)

You install it yourself, as the installers are the ones you may "question" later on........( yes, even the "bonded" ones may subcontract....)

There was a small one already installed in the bedroom closet of my last house...it wasn't big enough for anything much larger than a j frame, gun wise, but I kept some extra cash, jewelery, etc. in there.

It's a good thing you used the word "MAY"

I'm certified, insured, and bonded. I don't have those problems.

I've installed several wall safes. The first place I would look for one would be the bedroom closet.

I've seen them get cut out of the wall with a chain saw.

Get a good one. Hide it well. Install it better.

We discovered one in a house we bought several years ago. We had lived in the house over a year before it was discovered, and it was our electrician that showed it to us. The safe was disguised as a large circuit breaker box in our basement - even had the large electrical conduit coming out of the top and into the ceiling.
