Just bored at work and got to thinking if there were any gamers on this forum...

I personally am an avid gamer, and probably would rank gaming as one of my favorite past times along with hunting and fishing. If my girlfriend didn't watch cable i most likely wouldn't pay for it as i am usually doing that in my free time.

If any gamers are on here file in and let us know what you like to play!!

Personally have over 300 video games(and counting), all systems from the atari 2600 up to current ones such as PS3, XBOX 360 and Wii(sorry strictly console, no PC here) :)

I used to be heavily into military flight simulators in the '90s and early 2000s. Then the publishers stopped putting out decent products that I was interested in (WWI, WWII) and the hardware manufacturers either stopped making serious gear (I HATE twist grips instead of real rudder pedals), and the standard switched from gameport to usb. I haven't done any military flight sim stuff in years.

The only other thing I do is Age of Rifles, which is a serious board type military game that concentrates on unit level ground combat from around the end of the Napoleonic era to WWI. It's long out of print, but is kept alive by a very active user community.

Think of the firearms you could have bought with all that cash you used on 300+ games a XBOX, WII and a Playstation......just think about it or all the ammo red dots and other neat things you could have added :p:rolleyes::D

I used to be more into games and still play from time to time. Some of the game's stories are better than the dreck that oozes out of Hollyweird these days. I'm terrible at it but I liked the first two GOW games and am still sitting on the third one. The bit in the story about the one guy that was feverish about trying to find his missing abducted wife and when he finally found her was pretty powerful stuff. I had my at the time GF sitting there watching and she broke down and started crying her eyes out at the scene. Games have come a long long way from Pong and there are many more adult oriented games out than ever before I guess as us original Nintendo generation are getting older. I guess I find it more entertaining some nights to actually be a part of the story playing through it than just be a lump on the sofa. But then I've never gotten so into gaming that I've ever really gotten good at it. I just enjoy a good shoot'em up with a decent story to play through. And if you don't have to have the newest latest release games then buying them used a year or two later is pretty cheap.

Started gaming on the old proprietary systems like "Tank" (dual tank controls on a console. Spent a huge amount of my youth at arcades and on the iconic Atari 2600. Basically, played all of the consoles up until the PS3, but haven't been on it in a few years. Liked playing my nephew and brother online in Modern Warfare, but it was a pain in the rear trying to coordinate game times. Now, the only thing I've been playing is "World of Tanks" on my laptop. It's free, if you don't want to pay for a premium account, and a lot easier to keep up with when your reflexes slow down in older age:) I'd recommend trying it if you are ever stuck away from your console. You can upgrade your crews and equipment. Right now, I'm grinding for perks in my Hellcat, which is a Tier VI tank destroyer. I'll probably stay at this tier, as the higher level tanks start getting spendy in the repair shop. Have fun!

I enjoy a challenging game of Hearts on the computer. Twice the scores have been me =0, 104, 104, 104. I generally win but when I lose it's a crushing defeat. Solitaire helps the time pass on a rainy day if there is nothing new on the Forun.

i rotate shifts every 4 weeks...when i am on 11-7 and don't have to work weekends, i often stay up on weekends and play. not much to do at 2am when you can't sleep. i have a ps4 and cod:ghosts already paid for.

Play a game on a wooden board but my opponent must be seated in the room with me.

My favorite piece is the Knight, fork anyone?

Ps3. Mostly madden football. Do have Call of duty ill play sometimes. Im 47 and my wife gets on me sometimes saying im probably playing some little kid. Lol

not like I used to be.
most of my gaming was PC based where I spent quite a bit of time playing and hacking such games as rainbow six and operation flashpoint.
Of late its a PS3... Ive noodled with a few games but just can't get into anything other than rocksmith

I love games. I play duplicate bridge, pool, chess, poker, and on rare occasions backgammon.

I tried pong a couple of times but electronic games bore me.

Well... I was involved in the creation of a number of role-playing games such as "The Morrow Project" (Evidently still used by the US military as a training tool.), "Fringeworthy" ("Borrowed" by Hollywood to become "Stargate"), "Bureau 13, Stalking the Night Fantastic" (Also "borrowed from" for a number of shows...), and others.

But on the computer, I'll sometimes play in the Massively Multi-player online games of "Guild Wars" and "Myst Online: URU Live. This last one is completely non-violent, involving exploration and puzzle solving. (Remember the original "Myst" games?) Better yet, it's FREE! :D I'd like to invite anyone here that's interested to come and try it.

I haven't gamed regularly in a long time now. Partly because I don't have a powerful enough PC. Never got into consoles for whatever reason.

I used to be heavily into the IL-2 flight sim series as well as Talonsofts WWII based strategy games West Front, East Front and Rising Sun. More recently I've really enjoyed the Armed Assault series. They are realistic, tactical first person shooters that are not scripted like the typical FPS.(anyone recall Operation Flash Point back in the day?)

I play chess

I play chess online with other people. Over the years I've enjoyed the mainstream video games. I did like flight simulators. Since my boy came along I've been limiting my activities to just chess and guns.
