I'm in Tampa for work this week, and thought I'd like to shop a bit.

I did some googling and didn't see any reviews of local gun stores that were very inspiring, but are there any gun stores in Tampa that often stock old revolvers?

I can't say anyone stocks old revolvers anymore. But Tampa is like a smorgasbord of guns. There are pawn shops all over the city, and about a quarter of them buy and sell firearms. Then there are just plain old gun shops and there are probably twenty of those.

The two stores mentioned above are both on Fletcher Ave, in north Tampa; University (2012 E Fletcher Ave, Tampa, FL 33612) usually has a lot of older revolvers, but their prices are extremely high, IMO, and they don't come down much.

Shooters' World (116 E Fletcher Ave, Tampa, FL 33612) is a sort of Target type store, with uniformed staff, lots of new guns, a beautiful indoor range where you can rent automatics, a bunch of nice histoical exhibits of historic weapons (e.g. a bazooka, a Maxim, etc.). I haven't bought anything from them, so don't know if they will haggle or not.

Further south is Tampa Pawn, which sometimes has interesting guns (1203 E Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33604), and will deal with you.

Finally, I'll put in a word for Shoot Straight (3909 US-301, Tampa, FL 33619) near the Fairgrounds/Casino is like a walmart to Target's Shooters' World, but they will haggle, and if you're firm will come down to almost internet prices. They have a small selection of used guns, that churn, so you never know what you're going to find. I've gotten a couple of great deals there, but you just never know.

There are a number of stores in Brandon, due east of downtown Tampa, but I am not that familiar with them.
