A freind of mine asked me to get values on two of his autos he'd like to sell. One is a PPK, which I found one on GB, 2000 away in the serial, so I think thats a pretty good ballpark. He payed 700$ for his, I think he did OK. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=131922431
The other one is a HSc bringback from WWII, Nazi proofed with an Eagle/n on the rightside trigger gaurd, and what looks to be the frontveiw of a biplane (imagine the frontveiw of a 3 wing) with a 135 under it, on the left trigger gaurd. Serial number is 846231. There are no other markings except for the ussuall rollmark on the left of the slide.

Any help would be great.

Is the HSc .32 or .380? Most likely .32. They don't seem to command huge prices these days, unless they were the Party Leader style with the intricately carved grips. In nice shape I think around $800 is the value.

I wouldn't call myself a guru, but I see run of the mill wartime ones for $600-800. There are a few different variants, some will bring more than that, and if your friend has the capture papers they will add value also.

I'm no expert either, but I can tell you a few things. Your pistol is subvariation 4 (out of 5), military blue finish, eagle over 135 army acceptance mark (Mauser produced), plain sight channel, no lanyard loop. About 31,000 procured in the 800,000 to 886,000 serial number range. Serial number on front grip strap and last three digits on the barrel lug and the underside of the slide.

Ballpark Values (from a couple of years ago, YMMV):
100% - $500-$600
90% - $300-$350
80% - $200-$300

E/135 Mauser HSc in 32 with an excellent bore and 90% finish seem to run in the $400 range that I've seen. At least the forsale prices are in and around there. Some a bit higher,,but as stated, those are asking prices. Auctions can run up the prices but I believe Haggis' guide is pretty close even today IMHO.

Holster, extra magazine, capture papers all add value of course. Nazi Police marked pistols grab a bit more money too.

One thing to look for on the HSc is a broken fireing pin. The tip is very fragile because of it's design and is often broken in dis-assembly/reassembly. They seem to be overly hard in some wartime mfg pistols too.
