Going to visit my brother on September 27 for a long weekend. I think there's one in Blowing Rock. He's a quasi gun guy but I'm not sure he would know of a possible S&W honey hole.

Not sure about Boone but there was at least a couple decent shops down the road in Wilkesboro last time I was there. Actually started IDPA in Wilkesboro and Boone not that many years ago. That may have changed since Lowes corporate has pretty much abandoned Wilkesboro for Mooresville.
