Just got back from the big apple. Felt no danger the whole time walking the streets of Harlem, riding the subway, etc. This must mean the LEO's are doing a good job. One of the interesting sites near where my daughter lives is the parking at and near the police station. Most parking in city is parallel but at and near the station they have decided that backing in to the curb is the way to go. Police cars and unmarked or civilian cars follow for blocks, and cuts out a lane for traffic. NYC has a policy of moving your parked car on certain days to the other side of street for the street sweepers, the lawful do( about 60%) but the cops don't. Could an NYPD person or ex person explain the different set of rules?

Call the NYPD and get them to explain it.
Maybe people don't litter as much right in front of the police stations.

What he said^^^^

Also, head in parking creates more spots for both RMPs and personal cars...so on precinct streets, the lane will be narrower...but most of those blocks aren't two lane anyway.
