Does anyone own a Ruger LCRX with 3" barrel or ever shot one? What do you guys think about them? Hickok45 really liked it when he reviewed it. Thanks!

The gun looks ugly as sin, but a 5 shot, 3" barrel, adjustable sights, DA/SA revolver at 15.7 oz is a pretty nice concept.

I was very intrigued by this gun until I picked one up at a gun show a couple weeks ago to take a closer look at it. Trigger pull wasn't too bad but Lord God Almighty was that gun light....too much so for my taste. Didn't have any arse behind it. I can't imagine it being a fun gun to shoot.

I hope they come out with a 3", adjustable sight, version of the 357. I have the standard 2" DAO LCR 357, and it's a pleasure to shoot with 38 special. Would be even better with the longer barrel and bigger grip.

The 357 version has a steel upper frame and is 4 or 5 oz. heavier than the 38 version.

I plan on finding out, a 3" LCR-X is my next purchase. As far as it's being light, look at the grip. I expect it'll have better manners than my J-frame.

When we got the first shipment I ran a box of ammo through the rental gun and really liked it. A good shooting revolver at a great price. I also like this grip better than the one on the 2" gun.

I can't use LCRs. I've tried, but just cannot.

The reason is the grips.

Look at LCR grips compared to say, J-Frame boot grips. Imagine where your middle finger will ride compared to the height of the trigger on both. On the LCR, it rides much lower. Pretty much below the trigger. On my 642 boot grips, the middle finger rides higher. For me, this allows for a much higher and secure grip. I just can't get that on an LCR.

I had an LCR 9mm and wanted so bad to like it. I tried the factory grips as well as boot grips. I even took a dremel to the boot grips in an attempt to grind away at where the middle finger resides. It helped, but not enough.

So for me, they're a no-go.

I've handled one. I found it silly.

I don't really against them except to say that there are way better choices out there for a gun that does what that gun does. In particular I would say getting a J-frame makes so much more sense because of the grip options.

In truth, I really wish Ruger would stop making stuff like that and chamber the Gp100 in .41 magnum already. Every silly thing they produce that isn't a 5 shot .41 kind of annoys me.

I had one for testing, I liked it. Shot well with good accuracy, hard to shoot well being so light but perfect camping/hiking gun. Sights lookand work great with good sight picture. Handled 158 gr. SWC reloads well with recoil not being to bad, shot some +P defence loads and recoil is sharp as to be expected. I will buy one when budget allows. A 8 shot .22 version would be the ticket! My $.02

That's actually most of the reason I want one (though I'd want one even more in 9mm or .357). I foolishly passed one up locally for $300, would've been a nice hiking gun.
