The local town didn't cancel the festivities yesterday.

Fairly large crowds downtown with live bands both on stage & the local Irish restaurant.

We went early and spent about 5 hours.

My wife caught this guy tooling down the blocked off street.

It appears he's a Clemson Fan to boot:D:D

Butte, MT lives for St Patricks day. Out of town party goers from 4-5 states is not unusual. Many years you cannot get near the bars and drinks and money get passed back 5-6 people deep. For the sensible locals it is a time to stay away but for others it's party hearty.
The parade has been cancelled this year and I assume the festivities will be toned down quite a bit.

Went into an”Irish” pub in Butte, MT a couple years ago. It looked like a cowboy bar serving Guinness. The same year I walked by an “Irish” pub in Bozeman, MT and it looked like a brass, glass and oak NYC cocktail bar serving Guinness. Went into Fallons Bar in Clonaslee, County Laois, Ireland last Spring and it looked exactly like an Irish pub serving Guinness, Smithwicks and Bulmers cider. Fancy that.

Just Reubens at home for me... maybe a wee bit of Jameson... but probably not... it is a "school" night...

I am not Irish and no longer celebrate as I no longer drink beer which was the only reason:D

I do like corned beef but Mrs Rule doesn't:D.

The New Orleans mayor cancelled the St. Patrick parade in the Irish Channel. There is a big block party between Parasols and Tracey's both Irish neighborhood working man's drinking bars. Since the order specifically cancelled the "Parade" they still had the block party. The mayor was livid. :D:D When I lived in New Orleans I used to go around those places and I can tell ya,no two bit Los Angeles born lying dog faced pony soldier of a mayor named LaToya is a gonna tell those boys in da channel they can't drink on St.Paddy's day!!!!!

It was fun over here, had my brother and his eldest son pay us a visit.

When Ireland orders all its pubs closed right before St. Patrick’s Day, it really must be the end of the world .... ;)

Well, I’m not in Ireland or Boston anyways, we don’t have any Irish pubs in easy reach, so I’ll make do with the half bottle of Tullamore DEW 12-year-old I still have around. Can recommend that, by the way. Best value in a typical old Irish blend.

I'll make corned beef and cabbage with mom's old recipe. Stout ale and Jameson's too.

Today is Junior's birthday. We usually go to a parade with the grands but all have been cancelled. We can still cook though even though I'm staying low profile until this virus stuff goes away.
