Just wondering if any loads have been worked up with vit n110 for the 357 mag or 44 mag.
I have access to a couple of pounds of this and the hornady book says it is the cats meow.
Thanks

I've used this powder for 5 years or so in my .357s, and I really like it. My load is 16 gr. with a Federal magnum primer and a 125gr. JHP. Start lower than that if you want to try it, but I found that amount to be just right in my guns.

The powder, in my experience, is very clean burning. Since it is a stick powder there can be slightly more variation in charges than with other types of powders, so you may want to weigh more charges as you load than you normally do.

I wish you well.

No, thus far I've only used the one I mentioned, but I'm sure the powder would be great for whatever size bullet you wanted to use. Vihtavuori makes outstanding powders; the only problem I had was finding the stuff. I had it imported specially by one of their wholesalers, and bought it directly from the wholesaler.

I use 14gr of N110 in my Model 27 with Speer 158gr Gold Dot Bullets. Doesn't feel too hot, or show pressure signs, burns super clean. Velocity is 960fps at 10 ft, with a CED M2.

I found 3 lbs of it locally so I bought it. Freight and hazmat to get it where I live would be prohibitive. doubles the cost.

For that amount, yes, shipping/hazmat fees are too high to justify an internet/phone purchase. I bought 24 lbs. of it in one shipment, and got it at wholesale price; therefore the extra fees weren't such an issue.

I ran some of these 14 gr n110 with 158 horn xtp today at the range and covered a 5 shot group with a nickle at 7 yds. I wasn't able to chronograph since the range was loaded with people, but early tomorrow morning I will find the velocity.
Thanks bt

PS. if you couldn't tell, I'm still smiling:-)
