I know it probably will not ever be available in Kalifornia but for the rest of us has anybody developed a breeze guard yet? I hate having lost lumens due to a breeze. Plus, there is the dreaded flicker. Any updates to share? Naturally, the guard could be spray painted to match your rifle. During the right conditions when the tacticandle is working right, they are dead on! BGs should "fear the night".

I understood everything, except all the words you used, sorry :p

I consider myself quite the wordsmith, but i have never actually ever come across a 'breese', whatever that is? although i like the idea of a tacticandle....i wonder if you could get scented tacticandles, scented like the smell of napalm in the morning, you know the smell of victory.

I hope you find the answer you are looking for...i assume, talking about lumens you are referring to torches. Is that what the term for torch is nowadays.....a tacticandle

Breese guard... Is that used to prevent the flame from being blown out on a tacticandle?
Whatever a tacticandle is...

I consider myself a rather savvy fellow, but I have absolutely no idea what the OP is referring to.

I actually got the idea from catching up on reading all these pages about the 15-22. This forum talked about the tacticandle and even posted a picture. I should have saved it when I saw a good picture! I guess that was early humor. Lumens is how current lighting devices like flashlights are discussed these days. A sweet flame on the end of a 15-22 is all most need to "finish" their mods. Well, not really ever I guess does any 15-22 owner finish the modifications. ha ha

Wait hold on!!!

Well I always try to be helpful.

It really is a shame when crimes against spelling are committed, so egregious that no one can quite understand what one is saying

"Breeze"

Geez and after I just went and said people werent speling Nazi's around here. Guess I was wrong....

Do NOT feed the trolls!!!

Most computers and web browsers come with a spell checker, so there really is no excuse, except those across the pond words like, honour/honor, armour/armor, see those red squiggly lines, right click your mouse and let the computer do all the 'hard' work.

We use to laugh around here. Well I did anyway. Here's the proof. Scroll down half way to see my rail-mounted flamethrower and muzzleloader master key.

There can be no laughing. We're discussing firearms here. There will be no referring of firearms as "toys", despite the fact that we're all overgrown little boys (and girls) anyway. And no implication that things like range time and competitive shooting are actually "fun". We just can't have that! :)

Hi StobleCL

The Tacticandle has been in development shortly after the 15-22 was first introduced in 2009. Breeze has been an ongoing issue.

The forward optic initially worked well as a rear air dam, but failed under high speed tactical maneuvers.

While at Cracker Barrel one morning the wife spotted a miniature lantern. The lantern glass fit the Tacticandle pretty well, but in use the target image was a bit distorted like a carnival mirror.

I thought about the glass issue for a while and decided to consult with the R&D departments at NightForce and Trijicon. Unfortunately, they seemed less than interested.

I did have some luck contacting EOTech. The guy said that if I was using a Tacticandle then the EOTech ZOMBIE STOPPER II with Bio Hazard reticle would be a perfect match for me. I told him that I was already spending my early mornings at the shopping mall parking lot looking for dropped coins and would be purchasing one as soon as possible. While we were talking he seemed distracted by some guy he kept calling Eddy Ott and said he'd get back to me on the Tacticandle. Haven't heard back from EOTech yet. I'm looking forward to seeing what their design engineers come up with.

Cheers

Tacticandle wax drips down into the holes in the top of the handguard where it collects in tin foil (I had some extra from my hat) that I placed in the bottom of the handguard.

It works well in retaining the wax which keeps the rifle in balance as the Tacticandle melts down.

Thanks for the photo Phil. I knew there was one on this forum. What if it smelled like Hoppe's 9 since someone suggested adding sents? Glad you get the high tech idea. That's why you are moderator I guess. A man of vision.
