I just picked up my first M&P, a .45 compact.
I really like it so far but wouldn't mind having some stippling done on a backstrap insert, and no way will I try it myself.
Any recommendations?
thanks...

A2 Stippling - A2 STIPPLING

He is in the military. Depending on his deployment, he may not have much stock or be able to get you anything quickly. I will say though is that his work is exceptional. I have the number 8 dots on my compact. You won't even have to send your backstrap out to him. you can just buy one that he has already done.

+1 to Speedyquad. Aaron did the back strap for my 40c too. I've had lots of compliments on it & it the grip is improved.

I just e-mailed him out of curiosity to see if he does CTC lasergrips. Good looking stuff, customish, functional and not... odd looking.

Maybe you should try talon grips before you consider stippling..

Here is my 45c. I thought about stippling too but I really like these grips.

you're welcome. i am not a stipling guy to be honest. i understand the idea behind it. the dots was the first stipling job that didn't look like it ruined the firearm AND did what it was supposed to do. I have to say, when i get another M&P with a removable backstrap, i'll be getting these again.

I hope, that if you do go with A2, you enjoy them as much as i do.

A2 Stippling is Great, I have ordered a couple grips from him and they ship and arrive ASAP.

that's awesome. He was quick and very helpful/informative on deciding what I wanted. It was less than a week for me to get my items in once i finally placed the order.

If he is delayed, it is for a good reason. I wish that my shield had replaceable back straps.

I received my parts from A2 and just wanted to post how happy I am with the product. Very professional looking, quick shipping, and good prices.
I'll be ordering some more baseplates soon.

I like the way that dimple stippling looks, but it is usually very aggressive and snags on my shirt, revealing my weapon. I use a smaller random pattern.

Still worth trying yourself if you got spare time and a few bucks

Backstrap is actually the best way to give stippling a try yourself (doesn't damage the frame of the gun even if something goes wrong).
I started by stippling my backstrap, and recently after practicing on a few ammo-tray, did the full frame myself. Very happy with the result :)

Thanks for all the kind words! I agree that there are three ways to go about an enhanced grip:

1. Buy/install grip tape or some other grip addition (temporary!)
2. Buy/install stippling grips/parts (temporary as well!)
3. Stipple/Have someone stipple your grips or gun. (Permanent and more expensive).

I like my specific two patterns and I like that I can take them off if I ever wanted to do so. My only issue is getting parts from my vendors - I can be out for months at a time. Let me know if I can help…

Aaron, A2
