I have a new 686-6 Talo edition 3 inch that has been sent to the factory twice now. The barrel was twisted and leaning to one side. Customer service said it was canted, but it appeared to be a defective barrel because the barrel was lined up perfectly on the top. The under lug seamed to be out of shape and the front site was tilted to the left facing the barrel. The first time the gun was returned to me the same barrel was worked and canted to the right and the gun had scratches on the barrel from knocking out the pin in the front site. After firing the gun for the first time and cleaning the barrel i noticed two fine hairline crack in the forcing cone. I called customer service told them what i found and they told me to write a note and send it in with the gun and return it. On Dec. 23 I received the gun back. The barrel is canted to the left no, but better than the second time. The barrel was refinished but it doesn't match the finish on the top of the frame. The gun has tool marks inside the frame and the forcing cone issue doesn't appear to have been addressed at all. Merry Christmas from S&W, according to them the gun is within spec. I can't believe that this is happening any suggestion.
