Anyone get a daily "news" paper delivered?

Been getting the local rag for a long time. Must be force of habit. My parents got the paper along with the WSJ , NGeo mag and some others.

Well they just raised the rate to almost $100 a month!! For the some old stuff!:poop:
I just canceled, gonna miss the comics!:)
The last newspaper we had was when we lived on the coast. It was a small weekly paper that only covered the news in Aransas Co. Unbiased reporting and no state/national stuff.

Up until about 10 years ago I got 3 papers delivered daily. Then down to 2, then about 6 or 7 years ago - none. The Newspapers are slanted more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! I have no interest in reading propaganda, misinformation, disinformation, ads for stores and editorials from people who don't understand what America is all about or have an agenda to push!

I watch 3 news channels now, read countless articles, nationally, locally and regionally. I also discuss what's in the news with many people and we exchange concepts, ideas, and learn from each other. I am also a fairly skeptical person and rarely take "news" on a one-off basis. I also research things until I can extrapolate the truth or verify what I've read.

The two major papers in the state are the Bangor Daily News and the Portland Press Herald. I never felt the need for Commie propaganda delivered to my door at my expense.

I grew up with my parents getting the local paper and the Des Moines Register. When I got married in 1989 we got both. Then I canceled the Register but still get the local one. They recently cut it down to only publishing on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I get it for sports (Go Cubs!) And local news and obituaries. There national coverage is lousy.

Have always had the local paper delivered. I'd cancel in a heartbeat...my wife wouldn't. The only reason I'm not fighting it is because what would I used to light the kindling for all those winter fires!

WSJ in print - every day. Wife reads it, cuts out the crossword puzzle for me, which I still enjoy doing. Even bought a nice fountain pen while I was in Geneva, just for doing crossword puzzles (no pencils here, own your mistakes, or don't make any).

I read it on my iPad, every day. Not really "yesterday's" news as the WSJ has in depth reporting and stories that are then repeated later on the free outlets.

Business, world events, interesting articles. It's worth it.

I used to get the Buffalo News Sunday edition delivered. I enjoyed it with my morning coffee. Especially the sports section during football season. There was also an outdoors column and an extended bussiness/financial section. I cancelled it about 12 yrs ago. It became just another liberal rag. All opinions no news. It's not even printed in Buffalo anymore. It comes out of Cleveland.

Best description of newspapers I've seen was a cartoon of a newspaper with the headline reading "Sh*t That Happened Yesterday".
