Does anyone have the new Strike Industries magazine extension? It's a plus 2 and all my extra magazines are 7 rounders because I don't like the sleeve on the 8 rounders. Was mostly curious if I should get the Wolff extra power springs to go with them. With all the issues people have with the magazine springs I thought this might be a good idea.

I hadn't seen these! thanks for posting this one...

I would be tempted to get the extra power springs. might not need them if the existing ones are pretty new cause the shield springs seem pretty tight but if you were gonna use an an EDC I would test thoroughly either way.

I like those guys over at strike... they're always coming out with cool ****e at pretty good prices.

You know what's never worked for me, and I've sworn off ever trying again?

Magazine extensions and mag spring substitutions for any gun.

Carry gun: stock mags and stock trigger.

Spend the money on ammo and practice.

I agree, but I'm not a fan of the 8 rounder. I hate the sleeve they used on it.

I was able to get a order in, but they are out of stock currently. I guess they didn't realize they would sell out so quick after releasing them. I'm sure the springs will be ok since I just found out the 7 and 8 rounders use the same springs. I'll be using these on the 7 rounders.

I think Im very interested in more details of your experience.

On every gun I've tried to use a mag extension, or a mag spring replacement to jam in an extra round, there have been failures to feed. I'm done trying.

Often times range ammo works correctly, but full power hollow points will fail to feed. This usually occurs on the last round or near the end of a mag. One or two mags running correctly does not mean it's well tested.

Most people running mag mods have not adequately tested their gun with enough variety (especially carry ammo) of ammo to insure correct operation.

I don't buy Smith and Wesson, Ruger, Springfield, or GLOCK so I can second guess their engineers.

I feel the same way about trigger mods.

Carry gun: no aftermarket parts (except sights).

Range gun: have at it, but be safe.

Also: how much testing for proper function do you think Smith does vs. every aftermarket mag mod company?

They look really nice on the shield, definitely will give them a try once they are back in stock. thanks for the heads up. :D

Not understanding the whole sleeve issue. Mine are actually well seated and hard to slide up the mag but if you put Talon grips on your Shield then put it on the mag sleeve. Problem solved.

until the talon grips come off. especially bad on the 8 round mag extensions. I don't know if talon started using a cheaper adhesive or what but when I first started using them a few years ago they lasted forever but now they seem to come off really easily. maybe I've gotten some bad batches or something but I've started either making my own out of sheet stock that I found, or stippling.

you can also put a couple drops of super glue in the seam where the sleeve meets the metal mag. then you can still disassemble easily:)

Got my +2 today installed today I like how it looks and how it feels, the design is awesome it goes well with the gun. The range bag is ready for tomorrow will post my comments after.
