I was wondering if anyone here remember a run of model 37 airweight J frame Smith & Wesson made probably about a dozen or so years ago.

If I'm remembering correctly these were made on left over frames without the ILS and they were DAO guns. They also had no MIM pots firing pin on the hammer and were Bob hammers. If my memory serves me correctly they will part of a contract for I believe Hong Kong or some overseas Police department. So I was wondering what the prefix was on them if they had a certain serial number prefix for example whether they're 37-5 for example and are these considered collectible or does anyone know of a place to maybe find one on the used market I've checked gun broker to no avail. I mostly interested in if they have any collective value and what the production numbers were on them I would love to pick one up if I could find one at a reasonable price. Thanks for any help with this everyone.

Sounds like you are describing a 37-2 I bought used from a retired LEO back almost 20 years ago. These Eagle grips aren't original, it had UM boot grips. And yes that is a factory bobbed hammer. I'm not sure exactly how old it actually is.

The Model you are asking about is the 37-2 DAO, Product Code 149968. Produced in 2005.
Neat Model 37 with Uncle Mike boot grips and a somewhat matte blue/black finish.
They occasionally show up on the auction sites…

I kick myself. Back in the day, my local gun shop ( lived in western NY at the time NOT to be confused with “the city”) got a bunch of these in and were blowing them out cheap. Should have bought a few.
