Has anyone heard of extreme shock ammo? They are located in Clintwood, VA. Is this stuff any good? Anyone try it? Thanks in advance for any input. Lefty Lar

I heard about it when it first came out did some research and to me it just seems gimmicky, I have not shot any of it as the price is just stupid. I am a firm believer that you need enough penetration to reach vitals when dealing with handguns and this stuff seems to limit penetration and rely on "shock". To me it just seems like they are selling a lot of hype and not much else, I think I'll just save my money and buy the stuff I know works.

+1. There ain't no magic bullets even though their advertising wants you to believe so.

When it first came out I was working part time at an indoor range. I opened a box of this stuff and promptly took it out to the range. They make a few different loads and I don't remember which it was.

It was accurate. Recoil was more noticeable and the muzzle blast was worse as was the flash.

When someone asked about it, I recommended something else. We eventually clearanced it out.

There are much, much better options for ammo available.

I have not tried this ammo, but it is very similar to many other attempts at magic bullets.

Two things I know;

There are no magic bullets,

and there ain't no way to get around physics.

On the flyer, why is the shotgun is up front when the handgun ammo is supposively so good?

Maybe because their new shotgun ammo is supposed to be better but, to me it's still the same overpriced useless crap.

strange, i live about 25 minutes from this place and have never heard of it. ill see what i can find out after work today. :cool:

Had one fellow bring some to the range. Might be great if you were shooting somebody who was naked, but the bullets can blow up on a piece of cardboard.

IMHO from watching it shot, Extreme shock = extreme hype.

I'll take the Gold Dots or Golden Saber, thank you very much.

ok, i talked to a guy at work who knows these guys that make the ammo. apparently they are more aimed towards LEO sales. He said that they are trying to provide an ammo with lower penetration for tight quarters shooting so there are no accidental hits or something...... im like you ill stick to what i have right now.
