From what I can tell it's been around for about a year now, first available in a 1911 style handgun with a 9mm conversion barrel. Velocity is supposed to be in the 2000+ fps range???

Anyone have any experience with this round/gun. Thoughts, commentary from the collective?

Thanks

From the sites, I still can't figure out what case it is (necked down), or is it a new case ?

No experience yet but I have one ordered thru LGS. Armscor has pictures on their website I ordered the one with target sights.

I had the opportunity to shoot one at this year's SHOT Show in Las Vegas.

I was incredibly impressed with the Armscor 1911 and the 22 TCM cartridge. I loaded up 10 rounds into my first mag (17 capacity) and went to shooting at the steel gongs at 50 and 100 yards. I caught 5 at 50 and 4 a 100 with just a single miss, slow fire of course.

This cartridge really shoots flat.

The parent cartridge appears to be .223. At least it is a .223 case head dimension.

For the price of the combo gun that includes the 9MM barrel, this is quite a value.

Congrats!!! Does it come standard with the 9mm conversion barrel? Any trouble finding ammo for it?

I wonder how the ballistics compare to the FN 5.7x28 round? I've held the FN but never shot it. Honestly, for me the FN felt like an oversize toy in my hands. Grip was large, gun was very light and it almost seemed, dare I say, cheap, even though it will set you back a grand+. Seems like the Rock River TCM is a good value.

I hope it turns out well. It does come with both barrels.

I ordered ammo too hope that won't be a problem.

Enjoy!!! Post up when you receive it and have a chance to get to the range.

Rock Island Armory. Distributor's of the low priced but great value Armscor made Filipino 1911's. Have had one for 9 years and it works, works, works, and works some more.

I bought the RIA TCM 22 Thursday and it like it so far. got 3 boxes of ammo from the dealer. The 22 TCM is a blast to shoot. Big muzzel flash and noise but light on recoil. I've only shot one box bit it worked flawlessly. The 9mm barrel had two misfeeds but that may be because the mag is long (for the 22 TCM) and I wasn't forcing the round all the way back to the rear of the mag. Love to see a M&P auto in the 22 TCM.

I ordered the target sight model but got the other one, I'll change out the sight eventually.

Accuracy was good it is a blast to shoot I expected more recoil. I had 10 FTE out of 50, they came in bunches 3 or 4 rounds in a row then worked fine for the others, I expect it will get better.

I didn't fire any 9mm yet, an extra extractor is included and the the following statement is in the instructions: "When installing the 9mm conversion, you may have to have a qualified person install the 9mm extractor, as it requires some specialized technique to remove the TCM extractor, and to set the tension of the 9mm extractor in your slide."

I'm not an expert on these but the extractor appears to be same setup as my colt 1911s.

I would really like to have a 6" revolver in this caliber.
