Anyone take new VZ Grips - G10 Grips off NEW UC and put on Crimson Trace laser’s

I had ask on the 632 and maybe to specific and all 4 just alike.

Thank you

I have been trying to get my mitts on the new UC grips. They are the best j-frame grips I have held from VZ. I am discovering that nobody carries this specific grip for sale. I am still looking.

I just took mine off of my 432 yesterday. They're a pretty heavy grip due to the material and wanted to try something else. I didn't go the laser route. I went with some Taurus boot grips. I had to drill the pin holes into each panel. They seem to add a little more trigger reach but are still a boot grip.

I have uncle mikes boot grip and some vintage S&W banana grips. I had a pair of Altamont’s round to square made an in the mail to me as I type

When VZ decides to sell the UC grips separately, they will sell very well. They come up 3/16" or so higher than most other closed-back J-frame grips and my arthritic knuckles appreciate that. They are the only thing "special" to me about the UC J-frames.
Other than the unusually high number of warranty issues.

I put a red Crimson trace laser grip on mine. I ordered a green CT grip months ago, still waiting for that one. I really like the VZ grip that came with it. It's the only one I've seen that goes high enough for my style of holding the gun, and felt very good in the hand. The ONLY reason I took it off was to get the laser feature. Not selling it.

I agree. I placed my order when they became available at VZ Grips and after waiting a month they arrived today (I assume they were busy filling an order for S&W). They are now on my M340PD & M442-2. Well worth the wait.

Been rockin' those for years now, and posted the same more than once. I don't drill the pin holes, as I find they simply don't shift at all on the J-frames.
They have those nice he-she nubs and holes around their inner perimeter. :D

I was excited when the UC high-horn grips became available, but I don't really like it now that I got one. I always use a grip adapter w/magna or a boot grip to fill in the sinus, but these grips mash my finger into the trigger guard. They are also very heavy at 3.9oz. I currently own 19 sets of K/L grips and over 20 sets of J grips, and these are the heavier than my heaviest K target grips. Twice as heavy as any of my other J grips.

I also like most closed-back grips (like my Altemont Bateleur grips) because they "round out" the square frame area where your big thumb knuckle sits. But these are rather square in that area.

I'd say these are good for "average sized" hands but not L/XL hands like mine. The pics below shows it mounted next to my Bateleur grips. Note the smaller finger area and "sharp" square top.

YMMV.

I'm a fan of VZ boot grips, but not so much the high horns. They just don't fit me well. I have a new set of VZ high horns I'd part with. If someone is interested, PM me. *update the high horns are now traded to another forum member.
