Well, at the risk of being accused "argumentative", it's obviously impossible to make a longer magazine flush fit in a shorter pistol unless you chop off the bottom of the magazine! But yes, the Kahr sleeves do their level best to put a grippable surface around the magazine which extrudes from the butt of the pistol, much like the double stack sleeves that allow a 5906 15-round mag to look and feel better in the 6904/6906 series double stack pistols that were designed around a 12-round mag.
I think in both cases they look abominable but sometimes, it is function over form! I use an OEM 12-rounder in my 469 but you bet I keep a sleeved 15-rounder as the back-up mag for that pistol. I don't care for the look but it certainly does work!
If ultimately you are asking if Smith & Wesson ever offered some such sleeve rather than this Kahr alternative, I believe the answer is no. I've certainly never seen one.
The magazine you are looking at was OEM for the later 3906* pistols before they were discontinued, also OEM for the 3904, the Value Line 909 and the elite 952 series of pistols. They also happily work in the 39, 39-2, 439/539/639, but they look a little "incorrect" with the plastic base.
(*I denote "later" 3906 pistols because it might be little known that the original 3906 pistols shipped with an 8-roound magazine. The follower was soon redesigned and it became a 9-round magazine. You will notice one less witness hole in the magazine body when you find the scarce 8-round 3906 magazine.)
