As the title says, I’m looking at a holster from that company and as they only deal direct from the company it’s going to be hard to see one in person or get some good feedback without purchasing one.
SneakyPete

The concept of hiding in plain sight seems nice and I see many people walking around with those telephone and other devices carried in holsters and it seems benign enough. Just yesterday at a large mall I saw at least 10 people with those type belt holsters on and no one seen to notice or care.

So how about it gun people anyone out there with knowledge or advice about this product. If I get one it will be for my XDs.45. As I live in the people’s republic of NY I want to stay as far under the radar as I can. I have no doubt in this state many of the subjects here will be more than happy to put in a man with a gun call.

I have been looking at those too. However at some point if not already I suppose every leo in the country will suspect whats in them and the general populace will be right behind them. It may/will get complex soon when they get real popular. I bet at some point there will be discussions and legal proposals about them in the news. You put one on right now with that matching holster clip and it wont take much guessing. Good idea for awhile for the first ones. One of my dads favorite expressions when I was a kid was, "Who do you think your trying to kid"?

Just get a Man Bag:D;)

A matching pen pouch and suspenders will complete the outfit;)

Two of my all time favorites;)

I guess Sneaky Pete and similar PDA in Plain Sight holster (bags) would be sneakier if there was no SP initials on the outside. I tied a cell phone case for a tiny Seecamp once, it was not for me.

How many guys do you know or see with a Tablet, I pad or cell phone pouch??

A local guy and regular at the LGS developed a line of these holsters, they did not sell very well.

Thanks for the replies! I emailed Sneaky and asked them if I could get one without those initials as I felt it would look/be better . I got a reply back as leaving out that ONE LITTLE STEP would be customization and they do NOT do customization. O well, will stay with my ITWB outfit and save $60:D.

Here in Southern FL - I'm usually dressed in a light shirt and a pair of Cargo pants and the light clothing usually does not give you much of a chance to cover anything up such as an in the waist band holster.

Several years ago the State Attorney General sent a letter to all CWP holders in FL that weapons were to be carried CONCEALED and that anything else would be considered a violation of your permitted rights. In other words-if you are carrying it had better be concealed !

Enough to say that true concealment is always a struggle in a place where it is only suitable to wear very light clothing.

Enter the Sneaky Pete Holster. I received mine last week and I will tell you it is BIG....very big ! Mine is for a Model 36 five shot revolver and it is a big as a lunch box ! True it does cover the entire weapon but it's like carrying a large box of greeting cards on your hip. It does not have rounded corners and because it is so square - I personally find it awkward . I feel you could probably make your own holster from deer skin or canvas and be more satisfied. If your interested, I'll try and take a picture to show you what I mean.
Send me a PM
Your mileage may vary.....

I have 2 friends here in tampa with them. They seem to like theirs but they are not for me. I prefer my Crossbreed IWB and my BUG (M36) in an ankle hosted. to each his own.
:)

Just a little more on Sneaky Pete

Previously, So I told you the Sneaky Pete was a little too large for my personal tastes and I went back to a Remora for an in pocket holster. The Remora carries the J frame a bit on the loose side and I found I had to add an extra stitch to the opening to allow the weapon to fit to my satisfacton.

But one thing I did that was of enormous help was to tighten up the pant pocket so that the Remora holster fit in to it in a snug manner.

I had the wife take out her sewing machine an fit the holster to the pocket - by taking the excess space out of the pocket- so that the holster fits snugly into it. This prevented any movement of the holster (and weapon) within the pants pocket. This greatly improved things since I am mostly wearing shorts.
It's one thing to have the gun fit tightly in to the holster but another to have the holster sliding around in a loose fitting pocket.
Carry safe,
Bill

I'd be afraid some wise guy in a crowd would open it and steal what's inside thinking it was an iphone or ipad. Too cumbersome and too vulnerable for me plus it doesn't exactly look cool with jeans, shorts, or when on my Harley.

NYLakesider, I was reviewing the Sneaky Pete, for a while. I was thinking of using it for my PPK. The idea had some upside, until I made a cardboard cut out of the Sneaky Pete. The case for the PPK measures 5.25 X 6.5 X 1.25. This is an invitation for someone to think it is an IPhone or such. I decided to go with an IWB from Bianchi. No show, No drama.
Just my 2 cents, good luck

Again thanks for all the replies. I WAS considering the holster but based on my many years of carrying and the replies on here I will not be getting it. That and the fact that Sneaky considers something as simple as leaving off the lettering (which easily could be spotted by people in the know) as an option and they DO NOT DO OPTIONS is another nail in the coffin so to speak!

It’s always nice to have many options , but a good ITWB usually can get the job done. In the colder weather up here you could probably concealing a M4:D, but in summer your options are more limited. About the only time I do pack a .45 now is going to the bigger city’s or traveling in unfamiliar areas, around my home turf anytime during the year a Bodyguard.380 is in my pocket.

I have CCW for 40 years and never had a problem but since I have now lost 80# I have to reevaluate my carry options.

Looks kind of like the Sneaky Pete was conceived and designed by some Madison Avenue Marketing Company and NOT a real world packer. I saw on their website that the SP "holster" CLIPS onto a belt instead of having a real loop. This way a thief or mugger doesn't even have to bother opening it - all they have to do is to give it a good tug and it's history. Gotta give it a BIG thumbs down.

According to their on line catalog SOME holsters have clips or loops available. If I purchased would have gotten the loops 2 for the XDs.45.

more Sneaky Pete Holster thoughts.

The one I have has belt loops and seems to hold very well but again...it's big and too big for my tastes. It appears that the company only offers one or two size boxes and then alters the holsters internal inserts to hold what ever type of gun you have.

It was a wise idea on your part to make a model of that size box first - and try it on for size.

I wish I had done that.....I'd be $70.00 richer ! May be it will hold my cell phone cause I don't know what to do with it now.....
