Apollo 11

In 1979 I was working for a limo company, drove Neil Armstrong from Princeton to Philadelphia-didn't say a word to me. I gather he was very shy and withdrawn, like Lindbergh, really wasn't cut out to be a celebrity, didn't want to be one.
Our space program seems to be rather moribund at present, the last Moon landing was in 1972. In my sci-fi club we often discuss Future Imperfect, 2019 really doesn't look like we thought it would look in 1969.

It's incredible and almost unbelievable. It's like the Lewis & Clark expedition just with Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin & Michael Collins but on a whole different level.... GO USA!

The first manned moon landing is being celebrated in downtown Houston and at NASA today. NASA has been gutted, the Orion project really has not been committed to. The Disney operated NASA tourist attraction next to the old mission control is doing well though.
