I loaded several rounds up (in a ladder) for my Stag Mdl 3 with a 55 grain Hornady soft point. Seems 25 grains of H335 was perfect. Shot a 0.65" group at 100 yards. All the other charges were right around 1 to 1.5" although it really opened up around 26.0 grains. (Yes, that is a published load and I worked up to it with no pressure signs.)

Maybe that one hole to the right was a flyer ?

Likely so. It was the fourth shot. I wish I had've stopped at three! But oh well. One of these days I'll put a better scope on it and shoot for a real group. I know the rile and load are more accurate than I am.

For a bone stock rifle with a factory trigger, I'm overjoyed with it. The factory trigger is actually rather smooth. The guys at work were all jealous when I showed it to them at the office.

PS, taking a rifle in to your office will likely result in a different outcome than mine. Don't try it on the 10th floor of a cooperate building please.

Nice group. Now you need to go out and shoot 4-5 more just to sure it's not a statistical anomaly before loading up 1000 rounds.

FWIW, my favorite load is 25.1 gr. H335 with a Sierra 52gr MK loaded to mag length. Shoots well in most guns and under 1/2" in my match rifle.

I shot 100 rounds already with great accuracy. And hat was in mixed brass. For my load development, I used brass from the same lot of factory ammo.

And I didn't load 1,000 rounds. I loaded 1,406 rounds before I ran out of brass. Minus the 100 or so fired, I have a stockpile of 1,300 rounds plus my stock of factory fodder. More than I can fit in a 50 cal ammo can.
