Are all side plates for 642 the same?

I have a 642 with lock and just bought a Lady Smith 642 without a lock (black grips

) Before I take of both plates and just try to fit them, do you think they are interchanagable?

Take off my current side plate and put it on the "Lady"?

Course I could just leave it as no one will ever see it.

Sideplates are fitted to the frame. If they do interchange, I would be surprised.

I figured they fit so tight there must be small variances.
So, not worth wasting my time trying??
Probably just leave it. Really doesn't matter to me.
If anyone can see the words Lady Smith well they are just too close if you know what I mean.
