While this forum has some exquisite safe queens I only occasionally see real working guns. Some of you must have a few with a few dings and blue wear that are actually used in the hills and trails, or on duty protecting the public.
I really admire a gun that shows honest wear, because then I know that it was performing the duty that was intended.
I would love to see what you have as your working guns.
Here is my 44 Special Pre-Model 21 that regularly keeps me company in the mountains of New Mexico

Working guns

I have posted this one several times. My very first 29 once a 6" that I trimmed to 5". I shudder to think how many rounds have been through her.

And my newest summer gun, a 1956 pre-40

Here is an early 29 that I bought about 30 years ago and then sent to S&W to be reworked. It needed a new front sight. Anyway this has been carried on countless camping trips and hikes, as well as a car gun on many trips.

I own a fair number of S&W revolvers and the only one with significant wear is my Pre 36 which I carry daily.

Love um

Now we're talking! The beauties are nice but honest work guns have a beauty of their own. My favorite is a M49 similar to Pred's. The stories some of these guns could tell!

ALL my handguns are woods, and trails guns. Even my two 3" barrel Model 66's (gasp)

Not always been that way.

I woke up one morning at the age of 65, and realized I'd better start using them, before I was on the wrong side of the grass.

Been a lot happier ever since.

Here is my model 58 I purchased in the late 70's while living in Anchorage. I carried it while doing field work in the Bush in Alaska. I remember one time we were flying in a Hughes 200 about 100 feet off the deck in the Alaska Peninsula and a huge Brownie stood up and waved at us and invited us down for dinner. The pilot and I both agreed that we did not want to develop engine trouble anywhere around there. Anyway it was a comfort to have my model 58 during times like that but I sure am glad I never had to use it.

This picture has been posted before. Another Model 58 that did it's duty and is now semi-retired.

This one has spent a lot of hot, humid Georgia summers in my hip pocket. It has been dunked in the creek when I fell in while working to get an irrigation pump primed, been soaked when the lines blew out in the middle of the night while I was working on them, and been sweated on and rained on. I bought it in 1973. t has provided lot of peace of mind I've pictured it here before, and here it is again.

Both these pre-15 get a workout, the top one more so, shooting SSR in IDPA.
