Are You a Nielsen Family?

Our family has done this twice - no direct benefit. Hassle is remembering to fill out the record book. You can influence the type of television we all get in the future by participating.

I have done it once. No benefits other that possibly influencing future programming as klondike has already stated.

They probably will not ask me again! Lots of blank spaces on mine.

What little time the TV is on at out house it is either on Fox News or the History Channel. I spend most of my time in the shop building guns and don't want to be distracted by a TV. There is a TV in the office at the shop but turned on at 0530 each morning for the local news and weather, then turned off at 0600.

No, we're agnostic, but we're open to suggestions.:)

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like no real benefit other than knowing you are helping influence future television programming.

My wife and I were "recruited" a while back. They threw in a few bucks cash in the initial material (which included some general questions). We filled them out for laughs, to include ethnically designating ourselves as American Indians. I believe we also became millionaires at the same time.

A while after that we got a bigger envelope from them which I almost threw away with the junk mail, but I opened it and spotted a nice new $50 bill. They wanted us to keep a one week TV log. I grabbed the $50 to help pay for a .22 conversion unit for the AR and my wife got the TV log. She filled it out with disinformation and sent it in. Unfortunately no more $50 bills lately, and she says that the next one is HERS.

So if you and Native Americans find yourselves watching more Glen Beck, Lou Dobbs, History Channel and TCM in the future, blame my wife.

Years ago we did it for a week. No bennies that I remember but it was nice to be able to tell someone that not all Americans are brain dead idiots, that some of us actually watch History, Discovery and the dreaded Fox News.

Mr. Guano, I like your style. :D

To the OP: nope, they have not invited us to participate and I would probably decline anyway.

Chris
