We've had 11" of rain here since Saturday at lunch. Roads washed out, schools closed, ponds overflowing, creeks and branches are running like rapids complete with foam, yards have become lakes and driveways have become bogholes with people getting stuck in their driveways/yards. Forecast is for more to come tonight and we're under a tornado watch until 10:00 P.M. The drought in the deep South is over!

Except for some things. I traveled 70 miles round trip in the pouring rain to pick up 3000 small pistol primers today. That was the last of what he had and had he not had them stuck back for me, I wouldn't have ventured out. He had plenty of loaded stuff except for .357 - lots of .45 ACP. .40, 9MM, and .38 Spl. Scads of shotgun ammo. No component pistol bullets to speak of. However, I did celebrate the end of the drought by walking out with two Ruger New Vaqueros - one 4&5/8 blue in .45LC and one stainless 4&5/8 in .357.

Still, it'll be too wet to plow for a while.

oh man, the enviro types out here are in full back pedal after the snow pack has almost caught up to the norm.

I tell you it rained like a cow peeing on a flat rock here in middle Tennessee this afternoon.

We had 75 mph straight line winds with that little front that blew through here atound noon today-That's hurricane strength

Howdy,
I had a nice morning at the range, came home and hooked up the boat and started crappie fishing and was run off the lake by Lightning and heavy rain.
We are between bouts of it now.
Nothing like you had but more to come.
Mike

Oh... From the title of the thread, I thought you were wondering about time to change my Depends...

Well if you're in South GA, then I'm north of you and we're not nearly as wet as you guys but we've had a fair amount of rain.

That takes a little decoding, why not just say that Al Gore is two for two....?

Dry? Lakes that Old timers can't remember not having water in them in 80 years have been dry for two years.

The ranch has received .42 on and inch of moisture this winter..

Dry?? You might say that....

When the storm went through Gulfport Hail the size of a dime was reported. The salinity was down to 2 the other day. The Gulf is almost fresh water. Bad for fishing.

Where's redlevel??
I hope he's not "washed out."

Our little TVA lakes have been filling up rapidly too.

Thats something most folks folks don't realize...Towns and Union Counties are on a watershed that empties into the Mississippi River- th rest of th state never sees this water.

My neighbor is building a big boat and I've been out gathering up two of every animal, 'cept I ain't taking no skeeters, gnats, or rattlesnakes. No armadillers, either.

My rain gauge is in a box, so I don't have a measurement. I do have two RC Cola bottles out in the yard. It rained one of them plumb full and the other one half full.

Seriously, I would guess the 10-inch figure would be close. We had storms "training" over us much of yesterday, last night, and today.
I don't know exactly where in S. Georgia or Middle Georgia y'all are, but if you drew a line from Macon to Columbus, and one from Atlanta to Albany, I would be close to where the lines intersect.

It's getting worse. During a slight letup in the rain, when it slowed from a deluge to a mere torrent, I got on my raingear, found an umbrella which was missing the wooden handle, grabbed a cold beer, and sloshed outside to pump yet more water out of the pool. Got it started and spotted something green and yellow about the size of a dinner plate floating in the pool. Went over to investigate and found a bullfrog clinging to a life preserver! I asked him if he wanted me to bail him out, but he said no, it didn't appear to have helped General Motors.

So I came back in to oogle my Rugers.

Here's one for you to oogle. I bought it from Bo Barrow in 1973. His store was in the old building across the street from where he is now. His handgun display was in an old Lance Crackers display case. I think I gave him $100 for the gun and a box of shells.

If you are in South Georgia, I am just assuming you are familiar with Barrow Automotive.
