Arizona Governor Brewer signed into law today a bill that allows qualified persons over 21 to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. The law will go into effect 91 days after the latest legislative session, sometime late summer.

Arizona Joins other 2 other states

Who are the other states that are contemplating the same law as Alaska,
Vermont, and Arizona! I wish all states would allow to conceal and carry without a permit!

I'll take the credit for this passing. After putting it off for a very long time, I finally got around to getting my Arizona CCW last year. I swear the legislature heard that I shelled out the $ and time to get it and jumped into action. Paranoid, you say? No sooner did I buy a Savage combo gun (.223 over 12 gauge) than Game and Fish changed the regs for Fall turkey to shotgun only. I swear I'm jinxed.

Since it's now no use for its intended purpose, let me take it off your hands at a fire sale price...

Those that contemplate travel might still want to get a permit. Last year I drove across country and was mighty glad to have it...

So how does the new law work concerning non-residents on vacation in AZ?

OK, point taken. Actually, maybe I'm not jinxed. The gun was from the last run before Savage ceased production (something they do periodically with the combo gun) and they've become a little hard to find in anyhting other than 22 over 20 gauge or 410. Despite common belief that they aren't very accurate, the rifle barrel on mine is a real tackdriver. I have a cheap 2.5x shotgun scope on it and it will shoot 1/2" groups at 100 yards all day long. It's actually my favorite of the guns I currently own, and is perfect for coyote calling, especially up on the Mogollon Rim (shotgun in the trees, rifle for the meadows).
