Saw a stainless (?) Model 1911 .45acp manufactured by "Armscorp".
Anyone familiar with this company and the firearms ?
Jimmy
They have been around a VERY long time. Manufacturing facilities are in the Philippines. You might be more familiar with their 1911s under the Rock Island name.

I have one of their wide bodies and a Officers size.

They make a good product at a reasonable price.

As to the RIA models, for the money their 1911's are hard to beat.
The DA revolvers (Detective Special copies anyway) aren't all that great but for under $250 new, what can you expect.
I read someplace that Armscor is currently the largest manufacturer of 1911's worldwide. I think they make more than their RIA line but are sold under different names.

Armscorp

I would not hesitate to try any of thier products. My son and I bought 5000 rounds of their high velocity .22 ammo. I was hesitant because we had never tried before. We have now shot three bricks in auto pistols, revolvers and bolt rifles without a single misfire or failure to feed. I would suspect any company that makes .22 ammo that well can do a lot of other things well too.

jimmyj, I have handled several different 1911 style handguns from this company. They are a good, solid, well functioning 1911 in three calibers I have tried. 45 ,9mm, and 38 super.
They have most if not all parts that will interchange with all the major brands of G I 1911 style pistols.

As stated above Armscor, is the corporation head of Rock Island Armory, with beginnings in the Philippines in the 1900s.

According to a back issue of American Rifleman, "they have likely produced more mil-spec, 1911 firearms than any other firm, WORLD-WIDE !

Certainly not as well finished and dressed-up as the better known brands, but for the money, a solid shooter, with factory back-up in Nevada, and, I believe, a new plant in Montana.

Rock Island Armory, Philippines, referred to in "1911 jargon" as RIA, and "Rock", has no affiliation with the Rock Island Arsenal of WWII and earlier fame.
I think I heard the "Rock Island" name, is because of the factory location in Philippines area named ROCK ISLAND.
People who REALLY like them actually call them selves "Rockheads".

I would not trade a Colt / S&W / Springfield Armory / maybe not even a Kimber,(smirk) for one straight up, but, I also can not buy those major brands in the 450 dollar category either.

Wish I owned some, but so far good friends have allowed me to shoot theirs, and I may lay one away soon.

There is an outfit called Armscorp but don't see any 1911's. Armscor (ie, Rock Island Armory) probably makes more 1911's than anyone else. Great guns and a great price. I have a RIA Tactical 9mm.

Rock Island make a 9mm 1911 with an extra .22 TCM barrel. .22 TCM is very similar to 5.7mm armor piercing ammo with a velocity of around 2500 ft/s but cheaper than 5.7mm although .22 TCM is not available and I doubt it will ever be available for general sale with the AP tips.

Yep, Armscor has been around a long time. I think there was a whole article about them and the Rock Island Armory guns in one of the latest issues of GUNS Magazine or the American Rifleman, I forget which. Their 1911s have a very solid reputation. If I was a 1911 guy I'd have one.

Here is a Practical Series 1911, and yes it does shoot.

As other have stated Armscor makes a pretty nice 1911 and they make more than any other. Rumor is that they were using old Colt tooling that was left ther after WWII. Correct me if wrong but, I don't think that they make a SS model rather it is satin nickel
