This guy is trying to run a scam, has a copy of a legitimate FFL out of Florida.

Avoid him. He contacted me through Armslist and tried to scam my 586. Odd he’s going after classic guns and not modern stuff.

HEADS UP.

Email communication got sketchy and wanted to “send extra cash” make other arrangements after a VERY clear and legal agreement was made.

I’ll be contacting the FFL tomorrow but there is probably nothing he can do, and probably has no knowledge of this. Once his FFL is in someone else’s hands, they have it. FFL did nothing wrong.

Funny, I was contacted by someone from Florida saying they had an FFL for me to send to. If I can’t do a face to face I won’t do it. It may have been legit but it’s the skeptic in me.
Another person contacted me from the Southside of Chicago. Sent me pics of his DL and Foid card. In Illinois they use your DL picture for your Foid (at least I have never seen one where that hasn’t been the case). This one, both pics were completely different and signatures were not even close when comparing them. Something just seemed off and I cancelled the meeting. Not worth potential problems if there is a red flag.
I understand the OP’s concern and skepticism and don’t blame him for turning tail.

I live in Florida and I stay away from Armslist . Seems like every time I inquired about a Smith , I would get a warning it was a scam . We have a couple of other boards here that sell , and they get my business , not Armslist .

This is "hit or miss". My FOID and CCW are the same pic but my DL is different. In it I've added facial hair and have different glasses even.

Seems it's whatever strikes the St of IL fancy at the moment. My CCW and FOID expire within 30 days of each other so maybe it was a convenience for the State.

You made me go and look. My drivers license, FOID, and CCL all 3 have differnet pictures. FOID's good for 10 years and used the picture I sent to them, CCL used Drivers License picture, then just got new drivers License and got a new picture.

I have "copies" of several FFLs. How does one use that to scam someone out of State? Where does someone ship a gun to ?

The FFL person name and address is on the copy and it and if in question, do EZ check.

Maybe, but considering the location in the City of Chicago this person is from, I’ll pass.
