Absent Comrade
All I can say is WOW! The traffic was awful coming and going. I probably waited in line over 20 minutes to just get in. It was packed, but it always is and in fairness i usually don't go this early. AR and self loading rifle stuff was very expensive. My favorite LGS has 30 round pmags for $40. I said they were $35 in the store and the guy said to come to the store after the show. I saw at least two other vendors selling them (or trying to sell) for $60 each. I didn't price any ARs, but I saw a couple of AR's laying there with $2500 price tags. I met one man who was carrying some Colt pistols. One was a first gen SAA that had been reblued. Otherwise it didn't appear to be remarkable. He asked me $10,000 for it. Another gun he had was a fairly worn looking 1903 pocket automatic and he wanted $4000. I would like to have some of the stuff he was drinking if he actually thinks he can get those prices.
Most everything I saw was priced fairly high. I did not dicker on any guns as I felt most I saw would be overpriced by at least a couple hundred. There was a Colt Lord Deringer for $200 and a set of two for $500. I bought some .44 Mag and some .38 special from Georgia Arms. I probably waited in line there 10-15 minutes to get waited on and they were out of .44 Mag jacketed and out of 44-40.
I didn't see as many collector guns as in the past.
