I want a sling attachment just in front of the delta ring. I'm not sure I want to go to a quad rail since the sling attachment is the only thing I'd plan to put on it. So anyway...I'm thinking of attaching my sling where the delta ring meets the factory handgaurd using paracord. Any ideas on knots or pictures of how it can be done? I know it's not rocket science, but I want it to look as good as possible. Thanks!

Which model rifle? Some have a hole for a button type sling mount on the bottom of the gas block. Don't know I would put much pressure on or forward of the soft, aluminum D ring.

I wouldn't go that route, I just think it will look bad. I would go to GG&G or Midwest, Ind. and get one of the small aftermarket rails and attach it to the hand guard just ahead of the delta ring. Then go with a quick connect sling attachment.

So just drill holes and mount it on the side? I considered this option, but wasn't sure if it would work. Is the handgaurd strong enough for that?

Switching to a quad rail is what I'm trying to avoid. I thought the suggestion was adding a short section of rail to the existing handgaurd. Wouldn't that work?

Yes, that would work too. However, your reference to drilling holes confused me.

I was talking about using the holes molded in the bottom of the guard. They make rail sections made specifically to fit those. If you're wanting to put it on the side, I would consider changing out the guard to a railed one.
