To those of you who hunt yellow perch, white perch, bluegill, crappie or whatever you have to fill your freezer you may want to try the new Mister Twister RB-8MFB 8" Max Flex Blade Replacement. I don't keep and clean large fish, but I hunt and kill large numbers of eaten fish 10-15 inches. Knives and blades have never been what I though they should be. But this new blade seems to be the ticket for my application at least. Easy first cut on smaller fish, easy turn down spine, flip and easy off the skin.

I've tried the American Angler, every blade. Burnt that out and didn't like the blades for the entire fish. Broke a Mr. Twister Piranha finally, loved the flat blade but hard on the first cut and turn. Bought another Piranha and the replacement blade. I like it. It might work for you.

Catch and release is fine, but nothing wrong with eaten a few and remember the guys and gals that can't catch their own. it makes you feel good to see an old guy's eye's light up over a vacuum sealed bag full of perch fillets. And yes I'm an old guy, but I can still get my own fish but I won't be able to one day. That guy who brings me some if he exists, will have a S&W pay day, someday.

I don't clean fish without a electric knife unless it is busted, like the other night. I wish I could, but I can't sharpen a blade like my dad. Electric is quick and efficient. Like I said it works for me. You are free to do as you please for your application. But if running an electric, the blade is one to give a try.

Sharpen it the same way you use it. Small fish=shallow cut=shallow edge.
I’ve found it easier to move the stone instead of blade on a fillet knife.
