austin gun show

I have to say I've missed a few lately too. I just remember what the last one was like (at that location) and decide that cleaning out my garage or the like would be a far better use of my time.

First time I have been this year. Got there about 11:30 today. No line at the time, went right in.

Collins had sold out of ammo, packed up and left. EBRs were plentiful though some were way overpriced. US and "commie" milsurp in all flavors could by had at prices from reasonable to outrageous.

I found a DPMS lower parts kit and an A2 type buttstock for a Stag lower I had picked up a few weeks ago. Traded a bubbed (done before I got it) 1891 Mauser for a CZ-82 and bought a CZ-52 to go with the ammo I found in the ammo supply.

The only mission I didn't accomplish was either a barrel or mag extension for an 11-87.

All in all one of the better trips to a Saxet show since I started going to them a long time ago.

Seems like the Austin show has been going downhill for a good while. Often it falls on the same weekend as the better shows in Dallas or Houston, and some dealers will go there instead, leaving mainly a lot of jerky.

Dallas, Houston and San Antonio Saxet are the better shows. I've gotten some great buys from all of these.
