A few minutes after the doors opened this morning at 9AMat the Austin Gun Show in Round Rock TX a round went off and people in the hall froze.

A dealer, while unpacking his wears, fired a 40S&W round into the floor. No one was injured and the dealer was made to pack up and got escorted out of the building by the police and to the local station house.

That dealer will be banned for life from all Texas Gun Shows in addition to any charges he may face from discharging the round.

I bought 1lb or Hercules 2400 at the show but my offers on a 3 1/2" 1953 pre 27,3 1/2"1975 27-2 and a 2 1/2" 686-4 were turned down.

There were some 44cal bullets I wanted to buy but didn't feel like carrying 1000 out to the car.

Shoot!!.............

(Joke)

I sure would like to find a 4" 1953 pre 27!! (Or a 3 1/2")...What was he asking??

Best Regards, Les

My typo was fixed,it was a 3 1/2" 1953 pre 27 that had a factory patridge front sight.

The 1953 3 1/2" Pre 27 had a $2100 tag on it but would take $1500
The 1975 3 1/2" 27-2 was tagged at $1400 but would take $1000
The not so pretty 2 1/2" 686-4 went from $800 to $600 OTD

We have a negligent discharge at about every third show in Denver. Sometimes someone even gets hit. Probably part of the reason I don’t go anymore. Well, that and the horrible parking and ten dollar admission. Oh, and the fact that it’s the same overpriced stuff in the tables for at least the last decade or two.

That is a bit scarey.. It happened at my local show 3 years ago. I dont no what went down because there are 3 buildings and I was in another.

Haven't gone to the local show here in Victorville, Ca for probably 3 years. What's a gun show without guns? They are right proud of the few that are there judging by the prices they are asking. Other than that, I've enough camo t-shirts and beef jerky to last.

Woefully too many at these shows .. Especially when dealers know the rules and seem to continuously ignore them !!

Most of my friends have stopped going over the last 5 years or so .. as the shows have gotten worse in prices being asked and more junk merchandise you can buy on e-bay for 1/2 the price ..

I do understand where you guys are coming from, but if I hadn't attended our last local show, I wouldn't have this...a private sale, looks NIB:

So just on the chance I'll find something like this, I keep going.

Best Regards, Les

Problem is the area I and friends live in .. the large gun shows are usually not in Illinois .. least not in the Peoria area .. the last was held at the local VFW and was basically a joke .. took 5 minutes to walk thru .. and they didn't even have the bar open .. I bought a p-38 and a P-51 for a buck each I had been looking for ones for my Jeep ..

that was 2 to 3 years ago and hasn't been one since I believe ..

Looks like I made the right choice going to Brenham instead.

It gets VERY quiet doesn't it for the first few seconds after a round goes off. Heard one go off at the Reno Show few years back...They got escorted out too.
