Because I want it to stand out from the other author thread today, I'll start a new topic here. A new (to me) author interview with Wilbur Smith...

This is from his home near Cape Town. I think the lady interviewing him is from SABC.

If you're a discouraged wannabe author, heed his words. He almost quit, but became a massive selling author, in many languages. Several of his books have become movies.

I've read him from the first, 1965.

Trailer to movie version of,"Gold", based on Smith's,"Gold Mine." Roger Moore, Susannah York, Ray Milland, Bradford Dillman, etc.

Actually, I think YouTube may have the entire movie. They used to.

Wilbur Smith is unusual in that he writes adventure books set in many venues ranging from ancient Egypt to modern day. He has several series, inc.the Courtney and the Ballantyne family sagas, from very early days in southern Africa (17th Century) until very recent times. He's remarkably versatile.
