I've set my sights on a M&P 45 "Mid size" pistol with 4" barrel (SKU 109307) -- no safety lever, no lock, no magazine safety -- and now I'm having trouble finding one!

The link from the S&S web page to Davidson's Gallery of Guns indicates they are out of stock!

Is there something going on with this model?

Can anyone recommend a good gun store that has these in stock and could ship to an FFL?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link, pepper. That was indeed good reading.

I picked up a M&P45c yesterday. 4" barrel but shorter gripframe (8 round mags). It fits my hand really well and I'll be taking it out to the range later today.

I have to agree that both the 4" mid-size and the compact are harder to find, for whatever reason. Heck, the compact isn't even listed on S&W's website.

S&W rover, I have the mid size 45 with no thumb safety and enjoy shooting it quite a bit. It is more compact feeling than the 4.5'' barrel and has the capacity of 10 rounds which is 2 more rounds than the compact. For me, it fills what I was looking for in a mid size full frame gun. I purchased mine from local dealer, Shooter's Choice, which there is a link to their location and phone number. I shot at the range Friday and they did have the same model as I have in stock for $564. Hope this helps, and ask for Eric if you call, and tell him I referred you to them(he will know me by Sonny). zorro49 http://local.yahoo.com/info-13385146-Shooters-Choice

Thanks for the info and comments. Gunblast and some of the other sources have positive reviews, too. Looks like a good handgun to have in my future.

I had all three sizes of the M&P 45. My favorite is the midsize, followed closely by the compact. Believe it or not, I found the midsize with 4 magazines, 2 holsters, and a Burwell trigger job for $400. And no, it wasn't hot. The guy was spooked by the lack of a safety on the gun. I thought he was going to make me sign a liability waiver <G>.
