PSA *snerk* on how to prevent becoming shark chow.

How to avoid shark attacks

1. Don't swim in the ocean.
Ninety-nine percent of all shark attacks take place in exceptionally large bodies of water also known as oceans. The way to determine if you are currently in an ocean is to taste the water, which should be salty.

2. Listen out for the music.
In the event that you are foolish enough to swim in an ocean, listen carefully for the music, as demonstrated in the marvelous documentary film Jaws. All shark attacks are preceded by the "daah-da, daah-da" chords, which will gradually become more rapid as the shark gets closer. This is due to the Doppler Effect.

3. Swim with fat people.
Try to surround yourself with more appetizing companions. If you know them well, you might even try to switch their suntan lotion with A-1 Steak Sauce.
This will definitely improve your odds.

4. Don't go into the water without a knife.
This is not to defend yourself but to stab the person (a.k.a the decoy) closest to you in the case of a shark attack. Once you are sure the "decoy" is bleeding profusely.....swim for your life. And finally...

5. Don't panic.
In the event that a shark actually bites you, try to remain calm. This really wont help you survive, but everyone else on the beach will appreciate you not shrieking madly, as this is quite unsettling and can really spoil a wonderful day out. Remember, it's not always about you!

Gotta love it. Only in the Lounge.
Shark attack advice from the Piedmont. :D

The one about staying out of the ocean will definitely work, but may as well
stay off the road so to avoid auto accidents.

If anyone besides me gets this reference I'd be surprised! LOL

Contrary to the rest of you cretins, I appreciate SHAGGIST's timely and important advice. We don't often enough express our appreciation for the effort's of our various members.

And this it not just for the summer. It's a well-known phenomenon that there is also danger from snow sharks in the winter months.

Perhaps one of the mods could change this to a sticky for future reference to all members.

Thanks very much for your efforts, SHAGGIST.

And thank you, Dennis.
These helpful hints are the result of years of observation and experimentation on the Gulf (good) Coast of FL and the Atlantic Coasts of NC and SC. I have found them to be infallible if the instructions are followed closely, and they will keep you safe 99.9 percent of the time. I am just trying to be a good servant of the forum by passing on my hard-earned knowledge.

If you do come up on a shark attack it first. It will think it is about to be eaten and will swim away. And if that fails, well, have someone tell us where to send flowers.

"Don't hijack my thread."

On this forum in the lounge? BWAHAAHAAA :D

Lighten up Francis and watch out for the land sharks and the aisle sharks.

Candygram :D

Don't forget loan sharks, card sharks and the most infamous pool shark!!
