This model no. 2 shotgun was purchased by my wife from a Montana gunsmith as a gift for me at one of the early Raahauge Gun Fairs in Riverside, California in the late 1980s. The gunsmith did not have the factory box or paperwork.

AYA has developed a world-wide following for its fine craftsmanship. This particular shotgun was hand-built in 1975. I have fired only one box of target rounds through it shortly after receiving it. The gun has been carefully stored since then.

It has 26" satin-blued barrels with improved cylinder and modified chokes. The metal furniture is color case-hardened and is extensively hand-engraved in finely detailed English scroll. The no. 2 model features completely hand-engraved (true) sidelocks.

The gun weighs approximately 6 3/4 lbs. It has a very finely checkered, English-style, straight grip and a length of pull of 14 3/4 inches. The stock and splinter fore end are made of European walnut containing elements of crotch wood, fiddleback, and marble cake figuring. It exhibits outstanding coloring. The overall presentation of the gun's wood raises a question that perhaps a higher grade than normal was incorporated in the build. The underside of the stock is embedded with a bronze initial oval that can be engraved with the owner's initials.

The barrels were made using the famous chopper lump method, which is the preferred method of constructing side-by-side barrels. It is used exclusively by fine shotgun makers such as AYA, Holland and Holland and Purdey. The barrels have a raised, concave sighting rib terminated with a silver bead.

The gun's condition is excellent in all respects. It is available for personal inspection only by appointment at Fowler Gun Room, 358 S. Tustin Street Orange, CA 92866. Please call 714-three-three-seven-19-four-two and ask for Gene to make an appointment.

Potential buyers are encouraged to send the seller a private message to ask questions, request additional pictures, or make an offer to buy. Please do not post messages or comments on the thread.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO BUYERS

A buyer wishing to purchase this hand-built, as-new AYA shotgun should first post "I'll take it" in this ad's thread.

After posting "I'll take it," the buyer is advised to immediately send the seller a private message agreeing to the terms listed above. The seller will review the buyer's private message to determine if it meets the seller's expectations as an acceptable offer.

Sale is contingent upon the seller accepting the buyer's offer.

In the case of identical offers from more than one buyer, the seller will accept the earliest offer. The seller will send the buyer a return private message accepting the offer and confirming the sale.

Sale of the AYA no. 2 in this ad is for cash only, or for out-of-town buyers, the seller will accept US Postal MoneyOrders, or possibly a bank wire.

The seller will consider a partial trade for an as-new, pre-lock S&W J-frame in stainless steel, .357 magnum caliber, and with a 3" barrel. The seller will also consider stainless Colt or Dan Wesson 1911's in partial trade. Otherwise, no trades at this time.

In California, the sale can take place at Fowler Gun Room in Orange (see above for address) or at another FFL mutually agreed upon by both parties.

Reminder: In California, long gun buyers must be prepared to show a valid Firearms Safety Certificate, which is different from the Handguns Safety Certificate. The buyer must also have a currently valid California Driver's License and a second currently valid form of identification that shows the same name and address as on the driver's license.

Other buyers should make sure they are fully prepared to comply with their state's legal requirements to complete the sale.

The seller will ship at an out-of-town buyer's expense for transit costs, insurance, and all applicable fees.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this ad and considering its offer to sell.
