Got in some shooting over the weekend, mostly suppressed rimfire but I also took out the IMI Baby Eagle .45 and put some rounds through it. I bought this one new and have had it for many years. This is one of the originals but I can't remember the year I bought it.
I only had this a matter of days, not sure how, but I put about a 1" scratch on one side of the slide...nauseating!
I called Accurate Plating & Weaponry looking to refinish. The pistol was originally black parkerized. APW quoted me their Endura Guard (hard chrome) finish with what they called their street action job for $300 plus shipping. I think the turn around time was 4-6 weeks.
I was stunned with the results, perfect. It's hard to believe the pistol didn't look like it does straight from IMI. I've had more than one ask when they started making them with the hard chrome finish!
Would not hesitate to have something refinished by them again if the opportunity came about.
Ran 200 rounds through it, very accurate, reliable, and easy to shoot .45, lots of fun!
