Back at Bagram Afghanistan see last post

Well the weather cleared up, the elections are over and the US military had every helicopter that was capable of flying up and traveling to pick up passengers, dropping off mail and other supplies. Straight line distance from the FOB where I was stuck at to Bagram is probably 150 miles. Yesterday, we easliy flew 300 plus miles, dropping off stuff and picking up more people before we got to BAF.
Thanks for all the thoughts and kind words. By the way I think the elections went well, Gardez, the city below our FOB did not blow up!!

Goode to see that you are back to BAF LOL.... poor soul.... I hated that place worse than anywhere I have ever been.... the fobs however, are awesome!!! I especially liked the higher ones :D thin air rocks!! Enjoy your travels, be safe and know we all appreciate your sacrifice!!

I think the local population is growing some backbone and are tired of the thugs. In the hotel attack the Taliban really messed up, killing women and children. In reports I read the people in the restarant were throwing plates, glasses chairs at the gunman instead of cowering under tables. Go down fighting, well the gunman oodeparted the area quickly. The numbers of voters will be figured out eventually.

At the FOB I was at is also an AFGHAN Corp, with a General who who takes no BS. The taliban kept shooting rockets at the FOB, and miss, hitting the villages beyond it. He got the village elders together and gave them his approach on how things were to be done. So guess what, another rocket attack occurrs, this time they overshoot and hit the cemeter.
The next day the heads of the taliban rocket crews were mounted on posts in front of the cemetery with a sign of what happens when you don't listen and desecrate the most holiest place in the area.
