Just spent almost two weeks traveling to Florida, North Carolina, and
points in between. We saw family including my brother, and an aunt, 94, that I hadn't seen in 20 years. She finally moved out of California!

Very glad to be back in the U.P., and in my own house again. It's a lot
cooler and less humid here.

The garden didn't do real well while we were gone. We caught the
asparagus before it went to seed, but the tomato plants my wife threw
in the ground almost as we got in the car and left didn't make it.

The rhubarb looks kind of spindly but the strawberries are blossoming
real well. The weeds went nuts, of course.

One of the places we side tripped to was the Chickamauga Military Park
outside Chatanooga, TN. A gun collection donated by Claud Fuller is
displayed there. Lots of guns some from before the Revolutionary War,
and during it, the Civil War and all the way up to the '03 Springfield and
1917 Enfield from World War One. One of the Civil War guns is a
Sharps carbine with a "grain mill" (I've also seen it called a coffee mill
Sharps) in the butt stock. I have been there three times and this time
just looked at, and took pics of, the gun collection. Also gazed at
bunches of cannons on the grounds. Worth the stop if you are in the area.
